Gill & Pat at Les Arbres

Having spent many happy holidays in France, we decided to buy a home here in 2008. We saw lots of different houses, but fell in love with Les Arbres as soon as we saw it! The gites are full of character and had already been beautifully restored by the previous owners. Together with the fantastic huge garden and pool, we could see at once that it was perfect for family holidays. We have made lots of improvements including the pool fence and heating, woodburner stoves for cosy spring and autumn evenings, TVs, wifi, boules court and lots more. Not least, we have completely renovated the barn across the lane, and we moved here to live in 2010.

Set in the historical Perigord Vert region of the Dordogne and the Perigord Limousin Regional Nature Park, Les Arbres is set in the sleepy, old hamlet of Les Brousses. Our gites, garden and pool are all situated on one side of the chemin rurale – a little cul de sac which sees hardly any traffic. Our barn is situated on the other side of the chemin rurale, so we are close at hand if you need us, but equally you can enjoy your holiday in privacy.

The surrounding lanes offer lovely walks where you can spot buzzards, hoopoes, red deer, red squirrels, wild boar, protected lizards, orchids and other wildlife, or you can borrow the a bike and enjoy a ride along the quiet lanes.

Our beautiful trees after which the gites are named provide fruit and nuts in season, and you are welcome to help yourselves. From the families we have met, we know that Les Arbres provides great family accommodation of a very high standard, and many people return year after year. As one of our eight year old guests said on arrival “I’m in heaven!
